Purpose
The purpose of New Song Ministries and its programs is to directly provide transitional support and services to people who are ex-offenders - and their families - as they re-enter our community and to support this under-served group in a manner as we are commissioned to minister by our Lord.

While providing transitional support and services it is also the purpose of New Song to communicate the love of Christ in a meaningful and tangible way to those who are incarcerated and those who are released and returning to the community.

Priority
The jail and prison populations continue to increase while government agencies are strapped for resources to handle the growing numbers of ex-offenders returning to their communities. New Song fills the gap in two ways: 1) providing hands-on services and 2) gathering and coordinating service resources in the community.

The expected immediate results are to provide for basic personal and family needs such as food, clothing and housing with short-term objectives to provide for gainful employment and a church surrounding. The long range results are to help promote family structure and values, contribution to the community and breaking the cycle of recidivism. The need for providing such assistance is expected to continue indefinitely.

Resources
New Song is a full-time ministry, relying primarily on generous contributions given to support this ministry.

New Song Ministries continues to seek funding support from county and state agencies who openly acknowledge the benefits of reduced rates of re-incarceration and the accompanying improved public safety. New Song will continue to appeal as earnestly as ever to individual, church and other community supporters and will explore additional grant funding opportunities. Financial support is important, volunteers are welcome, prayers are needed.
